Warranty Policy ScaleDuty EN
ScaleDuty® Warranty Policy
At ScaleDuty, we specialize in high-end RC construction machinery and components. These products are technically advanced machines that require proper operation, maintenance and care.
To provide clarity regarding warranty coverage, the following ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty applies to products purchased directly from ScaleDuty.
This commercial warranty is provided in addition to any mandatory statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer law. Nothing in this policy limits or replaces rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
1. ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty Period
Unless otherwise stated on the individual product page, the following commercial warranty periods apply from the date of delivery:
3 Months – Mechanical Components
All mechanical components are covered by a 3-month commercial warranty, subject to the terms and exclusions set out below.
6 Months – Drive Shafts & Hydraulic Pumps
Drive shafts and hydraulic pumps are covered by a 6-month commercial warranty, subject to the terms and exclusions set out below.
Batteries & Electronic Components
Batteries and electrical/electronic components are not covered by the ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty.
This exclusion from our commercial warranty does not affect any mandatory statutory rights that may apply to the product.
2. What the Commercial Warranty Covers
The ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty covers defects in covered components that occur during normal and intended use within the applicable warranty period.
Where ScaleDuty determines that a defect is covered by this commercial warranty, ScaleDuty will determine the appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances. This may include repair or replacement of the affected component.
Warranty claims are assessed individually and may require inspection and diagnosis before coverage can be confirmed.
3. Warranty Exclusions
The ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty does not cover defects, failures or damage caused by, resulting from, or materially contributed to by any of the following circumstances:
Transmitter or Controller Settings
Changing, reprogramming or adjusting transmitter, receiver, ESC or controller settings without prior consultation with or approval from ScaleDuty.
Unauthorised Repairs or Third-Party Intervention
Having the product inspected, repaired, modified, dismantled or otherwise worked on by another party without prior approval from ScaleDuty.
ScaleDuty cannot accept responsibility under this commercial warranty for damage or additional problems caused by third-party repairs or modifications.
Hydraulic Pressure Adjustments
Changing, increasing or otherwise adjusting the hydraulic operating pressure without prior approval from ScaleDuty.
Damage resulting from excessive or incorrectly adjusted hydraulic pressure is excluded from the commercial warranty.
Incorrect Hydraulic Oil
Using hydraulic oil that does not meet the specifications recommended or approved by ScaleDuty or the manufacturer.
Incorrect Oil Level
Operating the machine with insufficient or excessive hydraulic oil.
Improper or Unintended Use
Using the product for a purpose, application or under conditions for which it was not designed or intended.
This includes misuse, abuse, excessive loads, improper operation or using the machine outside its intended operating conditions.
Overloading or Excessive Force
Damage caused by overloading, excessive force, forcing hydraulic functions beyond their intended limits, continuing to operate a blocked mechanism or otherwise subjecting the machine to abnormal loads.
Collision, Impact or External Damage
Damage caused by accidents, collisions, impacts, dropping, overturning, crushing, fire or other external causes.
Water, Moisture, Dirt and Contamination
Damage caused by water, excessive moisture, mud, sand, dirt or other contamination where the relevant component or product is not specifically designed for such exposure.
Unauthorised Modifications

Incorrect Maintenance
Damage resulting from insufficient, incorrect or neglected maintenance.
Customers are responsible for carrying out reasonable maintenance appropriate to the product, including checking oil levels, visible leaks, loose components and other maintenance items where applicable.
Normal Wear and Tear
Normal deterioration and wear resulting from use are not considered manufacturing defects and are therefore not covered by the ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty.
Depending on the product and use, wear items may include tyres, tracks, bearings, gears, seals, O-rings, hoses, bushings and similar consumable or wear-related components.
4. Stop Using the Product if a Problem Occurs
If abnormal operation is noticed, including but not limited to:
- hydraulic leakage;
- unusual noises or vibration;
- overheating;
- loss of hydraulic pressure;
- irregular movement;
- electrical malfunction; or
- any other indication of a defect,
stop using the product and contact ScaleDuty.
Continuing to operate a product after a fault or abnormal condition has become apparent may cause additional damage.
Damage that results from knowingly continuing to operate the product after a problem has become apparent may be excluded from the ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty.
5. Do Not Attempt Repairs Before Contacting ScaleDuty
If a problem occurs during the warranty period, please contact ScaleDuty before:
- dismantling the affected component;
- opening a hydraulic pump, valve block, cylinder or other technical component;
- changing transmitter or controller settings;
- changing hydraulic pressure;
- replacing components;
- modifying wiring or electronics; or
- arranging a repair with another person or company.
We may provide troubleshooting instructions that the customer can safely perform.
Carrying out a repair or adjustment specifically instructed or approved by ScaleDuty will not by itself invalidate the commercial warranty.
6. Evidence & Diagnosis
To properly assess a warranty claim, ScaleDuty may request information reasonably necessary to diagnose the issue.
This may include:
- the original order number;
- photographs;
- video recordings;
- details of when and how the problem occurred;
- information regarding settings or configuration;
- information regarding hydraulic oil used;
- maintenance information; and/or
- reasonable diagnostic tests performed according to ScaleDuty's instructions.
The customer must provide ScaleDuty with a reasonable opportunity to diagnose and, where necessary, inspect the affected product or component before unauthorised repairs or modifications are carried out.
Providing requested information helps us diagnose technical problems quickly and determine the appropriate solution.
7. Damage or Problems Upon Delivery
Please inspect your order carefully as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Visible shipping damage, missing items, incorrect items or other visible discrepancies should be reported to ScaleDuty within 48 hours of receipt.
When reporting shipping damage, please provide clear photographs or video of:
- the shipping packaging;
- any visible damage to the packaging;
- the affected product; and
- the shipping label where applicable.
Please retain the original packaging until the matter has been assessed.
Reporting visible shipping damage within 48 hours helps us establish whether damage occurred during transportation and allows us to contact the carrier where necessary.
The 48-hour notification request does not limit any mandatory statutory rights that cannot legally be restricted.
8. Return for Inspection
In some cases, remote diagnosis may not be sufficient.
ScaleDuty may request that the affected product or component is returned for inspection before a commercial warranty claim can be accepted.
Customers should not return products for warranty inspection without first contacting ScaleDuty and receiving return instructions.
After inspection, ScaleDuty will determine whether the issue falls within the ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty.
9. If the Claim Is Covered
If ScaleDuty determines that the defect is covered by the applicable commercial warranty, ScaleDuty will determine an appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances.
This may include:
repair of the affected component, replacement of the affected component, or another appropriate solution agreed with the customer.
The exact remedy depends on the nature of the defect, availability of parts and applicable legal requirements.
10. If the Claim Is Not Covered
If inspection or diagnosis determines that the problem was caused by circumstances outside the ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty — such as misuse, incorrect adjustment, improper maintenance, accidental damage or an unauthorised modification — the repair may not be covered.
Where possible, ScaleDuty may offer a paid repair, replacement part or other solution.
Any costs will be communicated to the customer before paid repair work is performed.
11. Statutory Consumer Rights
The ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty described on this page is a voluntary commercial warranty provided by ScaleDuty.
It is separate from statutory rights that consumers may have under Dutch, EU or other applicable consumer law.
The commercial warranty periods and exclusions described above do not replace, restrict or exclude mandatory statutory rights concerning defective or non-conforming goods.
Where mandatory consumer law provides the customer with rights beyond the ScaleDuty Commercial Warranty, those statutory rights continue to apply.
